Frequently Asked Questions
What will I be doing day-to-day?
Your day-to-day experience will be dependent on the ministry you're serving in. If accepted to the program, your supervisor will provide more specific expectations and work responsibilities. If you are a resident you will be managing vocational responsibilities along with your Foundy Cohort course load.
As a resident, what will I learn in The Foundry Cohort?
How the Scriptures inform life
The nature of God and Man
The nature of Jesus and the Holy Spirit
The Application of Redemption
The Purpose of the Local Church
The Promised Future for the People of God
Applied Evangelism
Leadership Principles
Ministry Practices
How are participants trained?
In addition to Foundry Cohort, residents will receive personal coaching from their supervisors. Additionally, there will be other opportunities for growth. Each resident can work with their supervisor to pursue these opportunities.
Do I need to raise support? (and other money questions)
There is no need to raise support. You will be accommodated in relation to the track level you are on. For example, college residents will be accommodated with food and housing.
If I do a residency, where will I live as a resident?
The Resident House! As part of the residency experience, you will live in the multi-floor, multi-room, community home. Additionally, an adult couple from FBC Kaufman church will live in community housing to help provide meals (think good dinners!) and be an additional resource to you.
Can I be a resident and live somewhere else?
For the sake of resident cohort experience we strongly recommend the residency house. Through it, you will develop deeper friendships with others doing ministry. However, there may be extenuating circumstances that apply. We will work with you.
What if I’m in seminary or completed seminary? Do I still need to be part of the Foundry Cohort sessions?
Yes! No matter your level of your education, this is part of the experience. Everybody has something to gain by participating and contributing. This means you will have more to contribute to the conversation. We are all life-long learners, learning together.
If I’m a resident for one year and I enjoyed it, can I stay for one more year?
Yes, there is an opportunity to re-up for 1 additional year!
